Free eBooks
There's a a lot of free reading available for those willing to take advantage of a little technology - not to mention spending some time scouring the internet. My plan is to keep an updated page of free (and maybe very cheap) ebooks that are available in the genre.
I'm not talking about older books that have fallen into the category of public domain - anybody can search Project Gutenberg and Amazon to track down free classics. I'm talking about newer releases (relatively speaking). Newer releases that an author decides to provide free of charge to generate interest in his/her work, or newer releases that publishers/authors are offering for free (for a temporary period of time) as a promotional tool.
So look here for free libraries and promotional offers that may crop up from time to time. I'll do my best to keep it updated (as promotional offers expire), but I'm sure I'll miss a few.
Feel free to add comments if you come across a "deal" that I've missed, but please don't use this as a platform to promote your own self-published stories or fan-fiction. I don't want to have to moderate the comments section, but I will!
Free Genre Libraries
- Baen Free Library: Lots of older Sci-Fi and Fantasy books by a variety of authors. Books aren't added to the library very often, but there's a lot there. Perfect opportunity to try an author that you've never read before.
- Suvudu Free Library: They used to have a pretty easily navigable website where the free library was easy to find. The books aren't permanently free but they had a pretty good rotation going. They've made a lot of changes to their website recently that may make finding the books a little harder, but they're there if you're willing to lo0k.
